I recently saw her work when visiting Pulse in May and fell in love with her colours and designs! My favourite piece has to be the elephant wooden mobile, just gorgoues!!

New Etsy Shop

It's taken me a while, but I have finally opened an Etsy shop!  Here's a few pictures of my most popular products, which I have added to the shop.

Out and about - South Bank and Greenwich

Sometimes I forget how much I love going out wandering in London.  It's been over 5 years since I moved down here and it's just about now that I can really say it feels like home.  My parents came to visit the other week, so I took them for a lovely walk along the South Bank and across to St Paul's Cathedral. On another day we also when exploring round Greenwich market, which is one of my favourite places!

 

 

 

 

 

Wedding weekend

I went to my first Hindu wedding on Sunday, so I thought I would share a small snapshot!

As the last few pieces of snow melt away from outside my window, I thought I would show you a few photo's from Sunday's walk. Wish I had bought a sledge, as I found a great sledging run just round the corner from home! Maybe next year.

Top Drawer and Home

I recently visited Top Drawer and Home in London's Earl's Court, for the first time.  I went with the lovely Mel Smith from Mel Smith Designs, who is planning on exhibiting at one of these shows next January!  We were aiming to get some inspiration and we definitely did. We also got to met fellow designer Esther Cox for the first time!

So I thought I would share a few of my favourite designers that I found.

First up is Natasha Lawless who works from her studio in Hackney, London.  I really love her 'Into the Wild' wallpaper shown below.

Elena Deshmukh is a designer/maker of beautiful handmade cards.  Originally from a textile background, she first exhibited at Top Drawer in 2001!

Jade Devall had a lovely stand in Home, which I was instantly attracted to, as she has a mass of ceramic products! Her simple but quirky illustrations worked well across a range of mugs, plates, cake stands, cushion and tea towels.

Zeena Shah is is a designer/maker of screenprinted textiles and homeware. I just love her Scandinavian look cushions.

2012 and the year ahead!

Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year.  I'm just trying to get back into work after over 2 weeks off!

So currently I'm looking at the goals I achieved last year and what I aim to achieve this year.

What happened in 2012:

• Finished all 3 modules of "The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design"
• I left my full time admin job in the summer
• Designed and built my own website
• Met alot of new lovely designers! (more posts coming up of these later)
• Took part in two Craft Fairs in December - thank you to everyone who came to visit and took home a little bit of ellejanedesigns!

 Aims for this year:

• Develop new product ranges and launch this year
• Find stockists for the new products
• Produce lots and lots of new designs!
• Go to more trade shows and exhibitions!
• Meet more designers and artists
• Enjoy every day and just SMILE!
